'Cave-claws do not carry away treasures, (your name), no matter how precious they seem to us, and the stones Heithur lost were wholly unremarkable to those without an interest in their histories.

'I am more concerned that the whiskerbacks of Ost Dúrgonn have somehow become emboldened, attacking travellers along the road or within sight of the Last Bridge. I believe that some corrupting disease has afflicted the cave-claws, making them more aggressive than they are wont. My friend Calenthon has observed something similar in the bears of Nan Tornaeth -- it could be that the cave-claws have a similar affliction.

'Ost Dúrgonn is north-east of the Last Bridge. Defeat whiskerback cave-claws wherever you find them, but especially among the ruins where they can be found in great numbers. Bring caution with you.'
