The future of LOTRO?

By: qwsaa ( IP 222.76.30.135) on 23-05-2008 22:11

First post here, wish it could be more positive.

I hear alot of talk about the upcoming AoC and Warhammer online. I read forums regularly - not just for this game - and it seems that alot of players from other MMORPG's will be making the switch to one of these.

I love playing LOTRO and so am worried about what sort of future it has. I've seen beta gameplay videos of these games and they don't seem to appeal to me. I'll be sure to check them out anyway, but will most likely stay with LOTRO.

But i've never known two MMOs so widely anticipated, and so i'm wondering what sort of a playerbase LOTRO will have left when these games come out?http://www.viccol.com

I understand that we don't have a large playerbase as it is compared to other games. It can sometimes be hard to find a fellowship for groups as it is - but how much harder will it be after these launches?

I'm loving playing PVMP more than PvE for now, and i hear that these two upcoming games will have massive emphasis on PvP. So what will happen do you think? Will the Ettens be deserted?

I'm pretty sure you guys can't predict the future, but you may have seen / heard alot of talk on these boards that give you a fair idea of how many will be off.http:// www.lotro100gold.com

I just have two general questions really: How many of you are switching / staying? And how badly do you think LOTRO may be hit when these games go live, especially PVMP?

Thanks for reading.
